Vivo XPlay 6 receives Android 7.1 update under beta channel with Funtouch OS 3.1

Vivo is rolling out a new update to XPlay 6. The update is being rolled out under beta channel and bumps up the software to Android 7.1 Nougat with Funtouch OS 3.1 version.

The update arrives as software version 7.8.6. Weighing around 986MB, the update is a hefty one. It brings few changes and improvements.

These changes are brought about in contacts, notes and calendar. The album and file management feature also are upgraded by the new firmware update. Other additional features which tag along with the update include bug fixes and security updates as well as system optimizations.

Vivo launched XPlay 6 last year in November targeting the photography enthusiasts. The device sports a 5.46 inches curved display with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution. The phone was launched with Funtouch OS 3.0 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, this Vivo phone packs in 6GB RAM and 128GB native storage. On the rear, the phone rocks 12MP+5MP dual cameras with PDAF and dual LED flash. Up front there’s an impressive 16MP selfie snapper. The battery capacity is of 4080mAh with support for fast charging.
