Fresh on the heels of launching the Vivo X23 Star Edition last month in China, Vivo has now launched the Vivo X23 Symphony edition in the country. The smartphone boasts a premium design with a new gradient color option and a tiny notch.

Compared to the original Vivo X23, which was launched back in September this year, the Vivo X23 Symphony Edition is a ratcheted down variant in terms of RAM and processor while it features an upgraded selfie camera with whopping 24.8MP resolution. Here are the complete details about the new selfie-centric offering from the ever-prolific Vivo.

Specs

To begin with, the Vivo X23 Symphony Edition is wrapped in a 6.41-inch full HD+ 1080p Super AMOLED display similar to the original variant. But, at its heart, it packs a slightly pared down processor which is Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC in place of Snapdragon 670 SoC. The RAM capacity has also been reduced to 6GB RAM from 8GB found in the Vivo X23. The default storage at 128GB, however, remains intact.

As for the optics, the Vivo X23 Symphony Edition doesn’t differ from the Vivo X23 in terms of the rear-camera setup. It rocks the same dual rear-camera module including a 12MP RGB sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 13MP wide-angle sensor with a 125-degree wide viewing angle. However, the selfie camera has seen a huge up-gradation as it now tops out at 24.8MP which is a two-fold increase from the 12MP resolution of the Vivo X23 selfie camera.

On the software side of things, the Vivo X23 Symphony Edition runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based Funtouch OS. A slightly bigger 3,400mAh battery keeps the juice flowing through the device.

The Vivo X23 Symphony Edition sports a fingerprint scanner upfront integrated right into the display, leaving the colorful back panel clean.

Unlike the off-putting chunkier notch upfront the Vivo X23 Symphony Edition features a small tear-drop notch which seems less encroaching on top of the display.

Color and connectivity options

The Vivo X23 Symphony Edition comes in two-gradient Arctic Morning and Starry Night Ocean color options. 2.5D holographic illusion glass at the back creates an enchanting depth effect. The handset is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device and includes connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth 5.0.
