The camera-centric phone Vivo V5 Plus is up for grabs in India. Priced at Rs 27,980, the high-end smartphone goes on sale in the country starting today via offline and online retailers.

The phone was launched in India nearly a week back and was up for pre-order while it made its debut in Malaysia last month. The main highlight of the phone is its dual-selfie cameras which the company claims ‘creates magical selfies’ owing to the bokeh effect and selfie soft-light features.

Other specs include a 5.5-inch 1080p touchscreen with 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5 on top. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 SoC octa-core processor paired with 4GM RAM and 64 GB internal storage.

On the software front, the Vivo V5 Plus disappoints us, by running Funtouch OS 3.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. At the given price, Android Nougat OS is easily expected. Power comes courtesy a 3,160 mAh Li-Polymer non-removable battery with fast charging support. The fingerprint scanner stands at the front.

Now, the most attractive feature of the phone- its camera. The selfie dual camera is of 20-megapixel+8-megapixel, both having their distinct functions. The 20MP comes with the Sony IMX376 1/2.78-inch sensor, an f/2.0 aperture, and a 5P lens system while the 8MP is there to capture depth-of-field information. On the back, it flaunts a single 16-megapixel sensor with LED flash.
