The Vivo Nex A is a product of the anti-notch camp that utilizes a mechanism that pops up the selfie camera and in the process doing away with the dreaded notch. However, the problem is that getting hold of one isn’t such an easy task.

For those who have managed to get their hands on the Vivo Nex A, the company is rolling out a new software update that installs version 1.8.5. This is a small update and as expected, there are no major changes to the interface and functionality. What is new, though, is the ability to wake up the screen using the Google Assistant, which is pretty cool. Google says this feature needs an update to the Google server and it could take up to 8 hours after which you’ll still have to enable it manually.

In the new update, users of the Vivo Nex A will also find optimizations for face beauty and basic photography effects for the selfie camera, updates to the weather data source for improved accuracy, and enhanced system security and stability. Of course, there should also be plenty of bug fixers in this update, so make sure you grab it once the OTA shows up in your notification tray.

Speaking of which, OTA updates can take days before they show up on all units, so you got to be patient before update 1.8.5 arrives on your Vivo Nex A handset.
