Vivo has been pushing the smartphone design envelope lately and the Vivo Nex lineup is what brought most tech enthusiast’s attention towards Vivo.
We recently saw a bunch of leaks and rumors surrounding the Vivo Apex 2019 which supposedly was to be one of the first smartphones to have no ports whatsoever.
Well, turns out that’s absolutely true and Vivo just revealed the Vivo Apex 2019 in China. While it might not be the first port-less phone since the Meizu Zero was launched a couple of days earlier, it doesn’t change the fact that the device is absolutely stunning.
But it remains a concept phone for now as there is no indication from Vivo about making it available for the public — it’s more about what Vivo can do that what Vivo has available for you, right now.
It seems as though Vivo’s trying to pull off a lot of “firsts” in the smartphone industry — FYI, the company was also one of the first to introduce the in-display fingerprint scanner on their device.
Even though a concept phone, the Vivo Apex 2019 is quite interesting, although, one could argue that no one asked for a port-less smartphone.
Nonetheless, it’s good to see smartphone manufacturers pushing the boundaries with the design and technology used in our pocket computers. The Vivo Apex 2019 is not only the company’s first 5G mobile phone but also one of the first 5G smartphones to have been launched.

The Vivo Apex 2019 comes with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and also packs in a whopping 12 gigabytes of RAM which might just be a little overkill. Not to forget the cool 256GB storage listed herewith.
While the device is great and introduces a lot of “firsts”, the device might not hit mass production since this seems to be a concept smartphone.
