Verizon rolling out OTA update for Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and Tab S2

Verizon has begun pushing out new update for the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and Tab S2 (2015) where the tablet is finally receiving the bump to Nougat OS. The updates arrive as builds G930VVRU4BQF2G935VVRU4BQF2 and T817VVRU2DQE1.

On the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, the update deals with various issues and includes fixes for the same. These issues resolved here are with Link Sharing notification, Video message (MMS) playback, connectivity with Gear 360, Device boot up issues and a whole lot more.

The update also includes the latest security patch for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. To receive this update, your device will need to be running build G930VVRS4BQC9 and G935VVRS4BQC9.

As for the Galaxy Tab S2 (2015), Nougat introduces new features like improved Doze mode, revamped settings menu, quick reply from notification shade and much more. Your tablet will need to be on software version T817VVRS2BPL1 to receive the update.

Before downloading the update, ensure that your device has sufficient charge of at least 50% and back up your essential data onto a PC in the event of a failure during installation. If you haven’t received the update notification yet, you can also try checking manually in Settings » About » Software update.
