Stagefright fix for Verizon LG G Pad 8.3 LTE also rolling out now, software version VK81036B.
We know you’re always late to Android update parties every year, Verizon. But we didn’t expect you to come late even when matters are pretty serious.
The Stagefright vulnerability has put millions of Android users at risk out there. Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T have all pushed out a patch (a week ago) for the Android security bug to most of their popular Android devices currently selling in the market. However, Verizon is joining the mass rollout of the patch only now.
Verizon is pushing out the patch Over-The-Air for the Galaxy S5, Note 4, Note edge and Nexus 6 with the following build numbers.
- Verizon Galaxy S5 – build G900VVRU2BOG5
- Verizon Galaxy Note 4 – build N910VVRU2BOG5
- Verizon Galaxy Note Edge – build N915VVRU2BOG5
- Verizon Nexus 6 – build LMY48I
- Verizon LG G Pad 8.3 LTE – version VK81036B
- Verizon Galaxy Note 3 – build N900VVRUEOF1
The OTA updates are rolling out to all users of the said devices and we strongly recommend you to install the patch for Stagefright vulnerability to keep your device secure from unauthorized access from a hacker.
If you haven’t received the update notification yet, you can manually check for it from Settings > About phone > Software updates.
