Update: The new software version for the Verizon Galaxy S5 is G900VVRU2DPF4. It’s based on stock Android build MMB29M, and its changelog states that the update is aimed to fix a bug where users were unable to unlock the device even when using correct PIN or pattern unlock code. If you were having problem unlocking your Verizon Galaxy S5 with PIN or Pattern lock, this update should fix it, totally.
Verizon is dispatching a new update in your direction, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S5 users! For the larger of these two, the update’s build is N910VVRU2CPF3, based on stock Android build MMB29M.
The PF3 update is already rolling out as an OTA, it’s better time to check for a system update in Settings > About device. As for the changelog, however small it is, it includes bringing the latest security patch to the device.
We don’t have the new build no. for the Galaxy S5, which received Marshmallow update long ago (something which AT&T Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and Note 5 received only 2 days ago), but we’re sure S5 is in for a monthly security update only, nothing else.
Don’t forget to check out our firmware pages where we provide you direct download links of the firmware so that you can use that to update manually, or even install it to fix your device when it’s soft-bricked.
