Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo 2 receives new update with October security patch

verizon droid turbo 2 update

Verizon is currently seeding a new software update for the Motorola Droid Turbo 2. The latest update brings a new Android security patch and fixes bugs.

The software version for the new update is 25.226.5.kinzie_verizon.verizon.en.US, and it is available as an OTA. If you’ve got a Droid Turbo 2 on Verizon, then you should be seeing this update very soon, if you haven’t already received it.

The update installs the October Android security patch on your device. It also fixes the BlueBorne exploit, which is enough reason to install the update as soon as you get it. Apart from that, there are other minor bug fixes and stability improvements. The Moto Z2 Play recently received a similar update from Verizon.

The Motorola Droid Turbo 2 is running Android Nougat, which is pretty good considering that it is 2 years old now. Unfortunately, it will not be getting the Android Oreo update. Several of the Motorola phones including the Moto G5s and G5s Plus will be updated to Oreo.
