Verizon Moto Z Play Droid receiving a minor update with bug fixes and January security patch, build mc024.104-35-1-19-3

Another Verizon locked smartphone is getting the latest Android security update. The Moto Z Play Droid is receiving a new software update that installs the January security patch.

The software version is mc024.104-35-1-19-3 and it is available as an OTA download. You can check the Software Update page on your device or wait for the notification to arrive. Verizon is also seeding a security update for the Galaxy S6 Edge.

This update is similar to the previous update that Verizon released recently. The previous update fixed the issue with the low notification volume and the current update installs the latest security patch. Apart from that, everything seems to be the same.

The Galaxy S6 Edge is all set to receive the Android Nougat update by the end of next month. The Verizon variant has already been certified to receive the update. To install the latest software update, make sure your device is sufficiently charged and connected to a stable WiFi network.
