Wow! Almost a YEAR after Google released Android 5.0 Lollipop, Verizon is now finally rolling out the Lollipop update for Moto X 2013 (XT1060) with build number 222.21.39. Like seriously, this is happening.
Well, it’s super good news. However, as far as root is concerned, this may prove to be a bummer. Although, we don’t see any reason for you to stay with KitKat for root. Lollipop is enough feature rich to tempt you to sacrifice root for a while.
But still, holy folks over at XDA should soon be able to come up with a working root method for the Verizon Moto X Lollipop update. It could either come with mofo or a safe way to update from KitKat to Lollipop while keeping root.
It’s very tempting to install the Lollipop OTA, we know, but we’d still recommend you to wait for a few days/weeks until someone knowledgeable tells us if root will be possible on Verizon Moto X Lollipop 5.1 update or not.
We’ll be sure to update this post if/when we come through any developments on root status for the device on Lollipop update. You may want to bookmark this page.
