Verizon is now pushing a new update to the Moto G4 Play over-the-air.

Arriving with the build MPIS24.241-2.35-1-17, the update installs the latest, i.e. June security patch on the smartphone.

Needless to say, security patches play an important role in eliminating the vulnerabilities thereby improving the security of your handset.

In addition to the latest security patch, the update should also bring fixes to the bugs and stability improvements which is sort of obvious with every update.

Verizon recommends to fully charge your smartphone before installing the software update. Also, do switch to a stable Wi-Fi network before installing the update to save yourself from additional data charges.

Since the update has been rolled out over-the-air already, it should reach your handset any moment. However, you can check for it manually by visiting Settings > About phone > System updates in case you are not among the ones to wait.
