The July security patch for Galaxy S9 began rolling out in the US earlier today when T-Mobile started distributing the CSGB OTA update to its variants. Now, the same update is also available for the Verizon S9 and S9+ users.
So if you are using a Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus at Verizon, now is the time to check for an update. To manually install an update, fire up the Settings app, tap Software update, tap Download and install.
If the July update (build CSGB) is already available, you will get a prompt to begin downloading a new software update, whose software version will be G960USQS6CSGB in the case of S9, and G965USQS6CSGB in the case of S9+.
The S9 sets are eligible for Android Q update but until the bug Android 10 update (new features) comes, there is not much you can expect from the software updates that would continue to arrive on a monthly basis.
One of the best features that could arrive on Verizon’s Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus via update is the Night Mode, that improves the low light camera performance of the device by a great margin. The Night Mode update is already available for nearly all the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus handsets as well as the global variant of the Galaxy S9 for quite some time but none of the S9 variants in the US have gotten it till now.
