Verizon Galaxy S6 Edge update rolling out with January security patch, build G925VVRS4CQA3

The Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is getting a new software update with the latest Android security patch. The software version is G925VVRS4CQA3 and is currently available as an OTA.

The update installs the January security patch and optimizes device performance. This is still based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but the Galaxy S6 Edge is next in line to get the Android Nougat update.

Verizon Galaxy S6 Edge has already been certified to receive the Nougat update, along with several other carrier locked and unlocked variants of the device. A user manual also surfaced yesterday, confirming that the device is soon getting Nougat.

This could be the last update before the major Android 7.0 update is released. Therefore, it is recommended that you install this update. Make sure your device is sufficiently charged and is connected to a stable WiFi network.
