Google has released the latest Android 4.4.3 KitKat earlier this month and some android devices are still stuck at older versions of Android. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is one such device that is plagued to run on Jellybean OS which is far outdated compared to the latest KitKat OS. There was no News on the OS update on the Note 2 until now, the Verizon Galaxy Note 2 has finally receiving the 4.4.2 KitKat update which is not the latest but would suffice the Note 2 user’s cravings.
Verizon is providing the KitKat update to the Note 2 users in the form of OTA update, the AT&T and T-Mobile carriers will also eventually roll-out the update. The update come with the software version KOT49H.I605VRUFND7, which adds support for Samsung Knox 2.0 with Knox Generic VPN Framework on the Note 2 device. Other features that are included in the update are Dual Persona, TIMA real-time kernel protection, Trust-Zone based ODE, Universal MDM Client and Samsung Enterprise Gateway.
The Update also includes a revamped keyboard with enhanced media controls, the option to choose a default SMS app, restyled notification bar, wireless printing, and many more features. Other bugs are resolved like removing Search icon within S Memo when there is no memo, fixing error code pop-ups in Back Assistant and many more. The S Suggest and Samsung Music has been removed in the latest update and included the Gear 2 compatibility to the Note 2.
The update will roll out soon to your device, so turn on your WiFi on your device and navigate to Settings » About Phone » System updates to check the update on your Verizon Note 2 device.
