Location

To begin this quest, go to the marked spot in Kaifeng City near the Goldwater Street boundary stone. The quest will trigger when you approach the two men sitting on a bench and talking.

Walkthrough

Follow these steps to complete the Veiled Blades quest:

Step 1

Head to the quest area near the Goldwater Street boundary stone and eavesdrop on the two men sitting on the bench to begin the quest.

Step 2

Enter Zhao Pu’s residence. Don’t climb the walls, as the game will reset you. Instead, use the small broken section in the wall to squeeze through.

Step 3

Rescue Zhao Chengzong’s “big brother” by breaking the pile of rocks beside him using your weapons.

Step 4

Speak with Zhao and walk with him until you reach the bridge. Examine the footprints there to continue.

Step 5

Examine the flower pot, the bloodstains on the bridge, and the stone table to gather all the clues.

Step 6

After falling into the water, follow Zhao Chengzong stealthily and avoid being spotted by the guards.

Step 7

Meet Zhao Chengzong without being detected and speak with him to progress.

Step 8

Climb onto the walls, then make your way across the roof and drop down from above. Enter the room quietly and pick up the key.

Step 9

After picking up the key, meet up with Zhao and wait for him to distract the guards. Then, slip into the room unnoticed.

Step 10

Once inside the room, locate the Throwing Star on top of the bookshelf.

Step 11

Use the Throwing Star as a key to unlock the lever, then pull it to open the secret passageway.

Pull the lever together with Zhao Chengzong to open and enter the secret chamber.

Pick up the Throwing Star from the small upstairs bedroom, use it to unlock the lever, and then pull it.

The secret door will close if you stop pulling the lever, so ask Zhao Chengzong for help to keep it open while you enter the secret door.

Pull the chain on the contraption to create a path for Zhao Chengzong to join you.

Pull the lever to open the gate and enter the room. Pick up the hairpin resting on a red book to the left.

Speak with Zhao in front of the locked gate and ask him to crawl through the gap behind it to unlock the gate from the inside.

Step 19

Wait for Zhao to open the gate. Once it’s open, enter and pick up the hairpin from the mannequin with arrows sticking out of it.

Step 20

Pick up the final hairpin from the red book located under the bookshelf in front of the Contraption Tower.

Step 21

After collecting all three hairpins, interact with the three Contraption Locks and insert the hairpins. Use the “Transform” button to add blades: tap once to make a two-bladed hairpin, or twice to create a four-bladed hairpin.

Step 22

After unlocking all three Contraption Locks, head inside the unlocked room and examine the Secret Letter on the table.

Step 23

After examining the Secret Letter, pick up the Hairpin on top of the red book and open the lock to obtain the Stack of Letters.

Step 24

Exit the Secret Chamber.

Step 25

Speak with Wei Zhixi to complete the quest and claim your reward.
