Several U.S Cellular Samsung devices are receiving new software updates. The Galaxy S5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Grand Prime, Galaxy S7, and the Galaxy S7 Edge have all received new updates.

The latest updates are basically just security updates and install the latest Android security patch along with minor bug fixes. These are recommended updates as they will provide better protection against the new malware and viruses that can affect your device.

Below are the software version numbers for all the devices that are getting the update. All of these are still based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are yet to receive the Android Nougat software update. It was supposed to come out last month, but was delayed. Just yesterday, we told you that the update could be released very soon as a stable Nougat version is being tested by Samsung, internally.
