The South Korean tech firm Samsung announced that the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will be up for pre-order from today, March 27 in the United States and that it will go on sale from April 10. However, all the carriers will not be having the smartphones from the above mentioned dates. AT&T
The pre-orders of the Samsung smartphones will debut on AT&T from March 27, but there is no word on the specific in-store date yet though it is believed to happen on April 10. The carrier will have the Black Sapphire, White Pearl and Gold Platinum color variants of the smartphone.
When it comes to pricing, AT&T has revealed that the Galaxy S6 will be available for $34.25, $2.55 and $22.84 per month for the 32 GB under the Next plans for 12 months, 18 months and 24 months respectively and it will go up for the 64 GB and 128 GB models accordingly. On a contract for 2 years, the device will be priced at $199.99, $299.99 and $399.99 for the 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB. The pricing of the three variants without contract is $664.99, $764.99 and $864.99.
The Next plans for the 32 GB variant of the Galaxy S6 Edge is $40.75, $33.96 and $27.17 for the 12 months, 18 months and 24 months plans. The same on a two-year contract is $299.99, $399.99 and $499.99, whereas that of the off-contract pricing of the 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB models is $792.99, $888.99 and $984.99 respectively.
Also, users who pre-order the Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge will save $50 on the purchase of the Samsung Gear Circle Bluetooth headset.
T-Mobile
While the pre-order starts from March 27, the retail availability is said to debut on April 10. Those pre-ordering the devices will be getting them before the retail availability, claims the carrier. The White Pearl and Black Sapphire variants of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are available for pre-order right now and Gold Platinum edition model will be listed once the stock appears.
The 32 GB variant of the Galaxy S6 is available without any down payment for a pricing of $28.33 per month for 24 months, $679.92 and that of the 32 GB of variant of the Galaxy S6 Edge is $0 down payment and $32.49 per month for 24 months. The pricing of the other variants will increase accordingly.
Notably, the T-Mobile customers ordering the devices before April 12 will get free subscription to Netflix for one year.
Verizon
Verizon will start accepting pre-orders for the Samsung smartphones from April 1. It will list the Black Sapphire and White Pearl models of the devices. Verizon is providing the 32 GB model of Galaxy S6 for $24.99 for 24 months under the Edge program, $199.99 with two-year contract after $50 mail-in rebate and $599.99 without a contract. The pricing of the Galaxy S6 Edge is $29.16 for 24 months under Edge, $299.99 with a contract for two years after $50 mail-in rebate and $699.99 off-contract. These are the pricing of the 32 GB models of these smartphones.
Sprint
Sprint will open pre-orders for the Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and White Pearl variants of the Samsung phones from March 27 and sell it on stores from April 10. It has not yet announced the pricing, but has let out a lease option. Under this option, once can get the Galaxy S6 at no cost on signing a 24-month lease paying $20 per month and sign-up for the Sprint Unlimited plan at $80 per month. This plan provides unlimited minutes, text messages and data. The same for the Galaxy S6 Edge is $85 per month.
US Cellular
The dates of pre-order and availability are the same as most of the other carriers and it will have the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in White Pearl and Black Sapphire color options. The 32 GB Galaxy S6 is priced at $199 for a 2-year contract, $680 without a contract and $34 per month for 20 months. The 32 GB model of Galaxy S6 Edge is priced at $299 with a 2-year contract, $790 off-contract and $39.50 per month for 20 months. The 20-month payment plans are subjected on $0 down payment.
