Sony Xperia Z1 Compact received a new Lollipop update a while ago, version being 14.5.A.0.270. While the update is available in usual firmware format of .ftf, installing that removes root and recovery currently installed on your device, and troubles you to install them again.
Hence, the need for a ROM in .zip format that’s flashable straight away from recovery, and is pre-rooted, plus have recovery already installed in it. Well we’ve got you just that, on the new Lollipop update, for your Sony Xperia Z1 Compact. It features dualrecovery v2.8.12.
Btw, the firmware used in question comes from the region India (R3D).
So, if you have the custom recovery already installed on your Z1 Compact, then updating to latest 14.5.A.0.270 firmware is painless for you, as you don’t have to worry about the root and recovery for the new update. The ROM shared below got you covered.
Download ROM: Pre-rooted 14.5.A.0.270 firmware
This is for model no. D5503 only.
Remember, you need to have a custom recovery already installed on your phone, to be able to install the new firmware by flashing the above ROM in .zip format. If you need help with this, let us know via comments below.
In order to install it, download it and transfer to your phone. Then, reboot your phone into recovery mode, and then do a backup as pre-caution. Next, tap on Wipe and then go on to wipe off system, data, cache and dalvik cache. Go back and tap on Install, and then choose the ROM file, and flash it. Wipe off the cache and dalvik cache again. Go back and tap on Reboot > System. Phone will restart, and the first start could take up to 10 mins.
Even though recovery was deleted from your phone, you will have it back because the new ROM had it. Plus, your Z1 Compact is already rooted, you can check out the Super App in your app drawer.
