Approach an injured merchant in the Mistveil Forest at the Granary of Plenty, Kaifeng, talk to him, and this triggers the start of the quest. You need to progress through Sorrowfield Village and its shrine further in the quest.

Twelve Years of Feud Walkthrough

Here is how you can complete Twelve Years of Feud in Where Winds Meet:

Step 1: Talk to the Merchant

Go to the Mistveil Forest and talk to the injured merchant. Heal him using your healing art.

Step 2: Trace where the Black Shadow goes

Investigate the traces on the road and follow where the black shadow vanishes. Make sure you follow the Black shadow track properly so that it does not get lost.

Step 3: Fight with Hounds

Inside the building, hounds attack you, defeat them all.

Step 4: Talk to Zheng Zongxian

After defeating the hounds, Sorrowfield Village Chief Zheng Zongxian appears. Talk to him and leave the area for the time being.

Step 5: Eavesdrop on the conversation

Hearing echoes from the shrine, make your way to the roof and eavesdrop on the conversation between the village chief and the mystery man.

Step 6: Explore at Xu Hour

At night, the conversations arise again. Make sure you explore the shrine around Xu hours. Eavesdrop again to find out about a Key from the mystery man.

Step 7: Steal the key

Zheng Zongxian has the Ancestral Hall Key, use Celestial Seize and steal the key without getting caught.

Step 8: Unlock the shrine

Go to the shrine's inner door and use the key to open the shrine's main area. It triggers a cutscene where you get dizzy on touching the shrine.

Step 9: Help the boy

When you wake up, you are at a completely new place- Kaifeng Zheng Manor. This marks the Third Qianyou Era.

Find the boy and help him untie himself.

Step 10: Follow the boy

Talk to the boy after untying him. He is Young Shen Yilun. Follow him to the cliff's end, and he tells you about this area, and you get your first target.

Step 11: Make your way to Town Academy

You need to get past swordsmen and burning areas to get to the Town Academy.

Step 12: Fight He Yuezhi

As you reach the Academy, duel with He Yuezhi and his henchmen. Defeat them all. Preferred skills- Flaming Meteor and Free Moph.

Step 13: Reach Zheng's Main Residence

After defeating them, make your way uphill to Zheng's Main Residence. You may have to fight with more guards on your way, stay prepared. Preferred gear - Strategic Sword and Stormbreaker Spear.

Step 14: Enter the residence

Go to the inner courtyard of the Zheng Residence. It triggers a cutscene to reveal the Bandit Leader.

Step 15: Defeat Shen Yiren

Fight and defeat Shen Yiren at Zheng Residence and collect boss loot. Preferred skill and gear - Heavenquaker Spear, Ghost Bind, and Ghostly Steps.

Step 16: Talk to Young Zheng E

Talk to Young Zheng E and learn about his family's death and fires. It triggers your nausea and you get teleported back.

Step 17: Complete the chapter

Upon waking up, you realize you were put into a dream to learn about the Zheng legacy in Jianghu from the Tomb Keeper.
