Android 5.0 Lollipop broke functionality of all data toggle widgets available on the Play Store since Google since Android has one now in Quick Settings panel on Lollipop. However, toggling between 2G/3G has still been a trouble on Lollipop.
Unlike, custom ROMs like CyanogenMod, you don’t get a 2G/3G toggle on the stock Android. And since all data toggle widgets are broken now on Lollipop, developer Feche came up with an app that stays as a sticky notification on your device and when touched, takes you directly to the Phone information menu where you can select the network band. It’s the same menu you get when you dial *#*#4636#*#* on the phone dialer. Check out the screenies below:
We know this isn’t a very pretty solution but it looks like the best we can get to toggle data between 2G and 3G on stock Lollipop ROMs. Grab the Manual 3G Toggle app’s .apk file from the download link below and install it to your Android device like you’d install any other .apk file.
