After stabilizing the Fortress systems, the next directive leads you to the Central Control Room, where unexplained activity threatens the remaining Phoxynamo network. You’ll face powerful foes, make a critical trust decision, and navigate the aftermath of an unexpected betrayal.

The Overlookers: Step-by-step guide

Step 1: Head to the Central Control Room

Follow the navigation markings deeper into the Fortress. The route is heavily guarded — prepare for close combat and long-range counterattacks. Keep an eye on terminals and scanners as they hint at upcoming system interference.

Step 2: Defeat the Battle Maven

Encounter a new elite enemy type: Battle Maven.
This foe deals high burst damage and uses sweeping AOE attacks — dodge during their weapon charge. Once defeated, continue to the Central Control Room.

Step 3: Shut down the defense mechanism

Interact with the control console to deactivate the Fortress’ defense system.

Step 4: Investigate the Central Control Room (0/3)

You’ll need to examine three investigation points scattered around the chamber.
Each point reveals fragments of the Overlookers’ internal network and their ties to Avar. Interact with each by pressing [Y] when prompted.

Step 5: Avar’s betrayal

A mid-scene cut triggers after the third investigation.
Avar reveals hidden intentions — you’ll face a choice:

Step 6: Investigate the surroundings & exit the Control Room

You awaken in a damaged section of the Control Room. Search the wreckage for clues on what happened during the blackout. After recovering, follow the exit marker to escape.

The Overlookers: Battle Maven: Fight Tips

Here are some tips and tricks to defeat Battle Maven without a sweat:

Switch weapons often – Build Phoxene with melee, then burst with ranged attacks.
Time your dodges – Use i-frames to evade heavy swings; don’t spam them.
Break its stance – Focus damage until the boss staggers, then unleash combos.
Adapt your loadout – Check enemy type and use weapons or elements it’s weak to.
Grab nearby buffs – Phoxene crystals or fragments can boost your damage or defense before the fight.
