Speak with Officer Durban and tell him you are sent by the Order with a writ. He will be doubtful and either ask for a bribe of 2,500 bits or require you to solve one of three problems before he agrees to inform his superiors.

We bribed Officer Durban because it’s much faster. P.S. — bribing him and then pickpocketing him afterward has reliably worked as a workaround.

The Invocation of Inconclusive Innocence: Tips

  • Before paying the 2,500-bit bribe to Scrutinization Officer Durban, save your game to avoid a bug where he may not acknowledge the payment. Reloading the save or area usually fixes it.
  • After bribing Durban, use Pickpocket to retrieve your bits without losing currency—just don't get caught.
  • Even if you bribe him, consider completing related side quests like the Mantisaur succession, murder investigation, or helping the medic for extra XP, loot, and story depth.
