Follow these steps to complete The Melon Thief Wandering Tale in Where Winds Meet:
Step 1
Head into the fields, where Chen Nijiu is yelling about someone stealing her melons at night. She explains that she chased the thief but lost him near the waterwheel.
Step 2
Go near the waterwheel, where two women are talking. there you will find the hidden basket of melons
Step 3
Go to the waterwheel area. You’ll see two women talking nearby. Search around them to find a hidden basket of melons tucked between a bunch of other fruits. Pick up the basket of melons.
Step 4
Bring the basket back to Chen Nijiu. She reveals that she actually knows the thief: Wu Liyou, a well-known slacker from Gracetown. She didn’t confront him because he has a daughter, and now sees the melons as charity.
Step 5
Find Wu Liyou nearby and speak with him about the stolen melons.
Step 6
Wu Liyou insists he wasn't stealing, only “borrowing” the melons to gift them to the Master of Grain so he could receive grains in return. Once exposed, he promises he won’t steal again, ending the tale.
