Two to three hours from full to empty, well, that’s worse than a Tasmanian devil’s span of sobriety for a battery life; and that is what the upcoming Verizon android phone, the HTC Thunderbolt, is able to live for. The testers are forced to carry a backup phone for this reason. HTC Thunderbolt, Verizon’s proud step into the realm of Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology, is running its Sixth retail delay in launch and the probable reason for that is…. okay, enough modesty, the actual reason for that is, its very short battery life. Now, it could be real bad with the LTE radio left on, and pretty much the same problem was seen with EVO 4G with WiMAX left On. Nevertheless, this issue is keeping this bad boy (and the Big Red’s pride) away from the tech lovers.
The word’s in that there could be a firmware upgrade addressing the battery life and signal reception issues (Yes! You guessed it, that’s another issue). Hopefully we’ll get the big guy with a long life. Android Soul will keep you posted.
