How to craft the early-game whips quickly

These are the whips you can make before Hardmode, and they’re the fastest to knock out early if you gather materials while exploring.

Step 1: Craft Cobwhip at a Loom

Gather 10 Wood from trees and 30 Cobweb from underground caves and spider areas, then craft the Cobwhip at a Loom.

Step 2: Unlock the Solidifier and craft the Slime Whip

Defeat King Slime to obtain the Solidifier. Then craft the Slime Whip using 50 Gel at the Solidifier.

If your world has Corruption, craft Soulscourge with 12 Demonite Bars at an Iron/Lead Anvil.

How to farm the Hardmode boss-drop whips

Once you hit Hardmode, the remaining drops come from specific bosses, so you’ll want to plan your fights to avoid unnecessary grind.

Step 5: Get Vulgar Display of Flower from Plantera

Defeat Plantera and keep farming her until Vulgar Display of Flower drops.

How to craft the endgame whip Constellation

Constellation is your crafted endgame option, and it’s made from Stardust Fragments at the Ancient Manipulator.

Collect 18 Stardust Fragments, then craft Constellation at the Ancient Manipulator.

Locations

You’ll mainly rotate between underground caves (Cobweb), your base crafting area (Loom, Anvil, Solidifier), a Meteorite crash site (Meteorite Bars), the Underground Jungle for Plantera progression, the Ocean for Duke Fishron, and endgame Lunar events leading into Moon Lord and Stardust Fragments.
