Your mission then takes you to a compound to locate three truant children, followed by a brief infiltration of the Patrol and Inspection Agency to collect and decode key files.

To begin this quest, head to Jiang's Teahouse in Kaifeng City. The quest will start once you speak with Pinggu Wen inside the Teahouse.

Walkthrough

Follow the steps below to complete the Tale of Gold Leaves Volume II quest:

Step 1

Go inside the Teahouse and speak with Pinggu Wen to start the quest.

Step 2

Examine the book on the table to progress.

Step 3

Visit Hopewell Academy and talk to Chen Xuewu to gather more information.

Step 4

Go to the quest area and locate the three Truants. The first, Xu Xuan, can be found inside a well-lit shop within the compound.

Step 5

The second truant, Hu Qiaoqiao, is located to the right of the well-lit shop, between the shop and the wall.

Step 6

The final truant, Chen Wenwen, can be found resting on a bed inside one of the buildings within the compound.

Step 7

Speak with the Master standing just outside the compound and share the clues with him.

Step 8

Carefully sneak into the Patrol and Inspection Agency.

Step 9

Once inside the room, examine the 3 Old Files.

Step 10

Proceed to the quest marker and start piecing together the clues. Follow the arrowed deductions to connect them and complete the objective.

Step 11

Go to Zheng Ran and, upon arrival, eavesdrop on his conversation with Grannie Liu inside the house. Afterward, speak with Grannie Liu.

Step 12

Return during Chen hour to speak with Zheng Ran and look for her inside her home. Then head to Willow Bank, where you’ll find her standing near the water.

Step 13

Use Tai Chi while standing on the fallen leaves in front of Zheng Ran to trigger a cutscene, bringing the quest to an end.

• Sneak carefully into the Patrol and Inspection Agency to find the old files without alerting guards.
