Location

To start this quest, go to the marked spot in South Gate Avenue and speak with Zheng Ran, who is standing with a group of children behind the vegetable vendor.

Walkthrough

Follow all the steps to complete the Tale of Gold Leaves Volume I quest:

Step 1

Head to the marked location and approach the group of kids standing behind the vegetable vendor to start the quest.

Step 2

After the kids run off, speak with Zheng Ran, who will be crying.

Step 3

Walk with Zheng Ran back to her home, staying close without going too far ahead or falling too far behind, until you arrive.

Step 4

Once you reach Zheng Ran’s home, speak with the nearby neighbors in the market to learn about her family’s whereabouts.

Step 5

Return to Zheng Ran and speak with her to progress.

Step 6

Head to the Immortal Tree and inspect the stone tablet in front of it, which will trigger a cutscene.

Step 7

As the cutscene ends, get ready to chase Zhou Ergou, the thief, and catch up to him.

Step 8

Go behind the shop in front of you and ask about the Gold Leaf. Once you’re done, return to Zhou Ergou—only to find he’s gone.

Step 9

Return to the Immortal Tree, speak with the Elder there, and hand over the remaining Peace Talisman to complete the quest.
