Gionee S6 update brings ViLTE support and bug fixes

Gionee S6 is receiving a new firmware update which is rolling out over the air. The update brings a handful of new features and improvements, the most notable of which is the ViLTE support.

Already endowed with VoLTE support, the addition of ViLTE will enhance voice services with a high quality video channel. ViLTE stands for video over LTE and is an extension of VoLTE. Other than this, the new firmware update fixes minor bugs and tags along system improvements.

  1. wow!! known about VoLte but not ViLte, but now that I know that it enhances voice services, seems a pretty good feature to have if u do call a lot or do various voice related activities like voice command, this feature can sure come in handy!!

  2. Never heard of the ViLte feature seems to be a good feature 🙂 At first I thought this was a typo at the heading but then once I started reading found out about ViLte and what it brings with it.Something that we’ll be seeing coming to all phones soon ,atleast all flagships. The phone itself seems good but sad that it didn’t get a Nougat update..

  3. I am supposing ViLTE, VoLTE and the likes are going to be the future. Gionee is releasing these incremental updates while most flagships have failed to update their phones in India with the VoLTE feature labeled as Enhanced LTE.
