T-Mobile resumes rollout of LG V30 Oreo update build H93220h

After months of beta testing in its home region of South Korea and Europe, LG released the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the V30 and V30+ around back in December last year. However, it wasn’t until the month of May that carrier-locked variants in the United States began receiving the software update, and users couldn’t be more excited. But for LG V30 and V30+ users with T-Mobile, all of it was put on hold when the Android Oreo update was halted less than a week after it began rolling out on May 7.

With the month almost coming to an end, T-Mobile has resumed the Android 8.0 update rollout on May 29, while keeping the build number H93220h the same as before. Additional details on the T-Mobile LG V30 and V30+ product page suggests that users need to first review and update the McAfee Security for T-Mobile App to version 4.9 or higher before going ahead with the installation of the new software update.

This is most likely to reduce the number of software compatibility issues that were reported before the Oreo update was halted. Additionally, T-Mobile states that the software update is incrementally rolling out, and to prevent network congestion, the updates have been set on a scheduled daily limit. If you aren’t able to see the software update notification show up on your device, T-Mobile recommends checking for it the next day or after July 3. To manually check for update on your LG V30 and V30+, head over to About phone – Update Center – System updates – Check for update.
