T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are getting new software updates right now. These are minor security updates, but we highly recommend that you install them. The updates are available over OTA to T-Mobile users.
There aren’t any new features included in the update, but you do get the latest December Android security patch. And that’s about it. The baseband version for the Galaxy S7 update is G930TUVS4BQL2, whereas the Galaxy S7 Edge gets G935TUVS4BQL2.
If you own either of these devices on T-Mobile, you should be getting the update notification. AT&T also released new software updates for the Galaxy S6 series earlier today. A similar December patch was included in the update.
Samsung hasn’t yet delivered the Android 8.0 Oreo update for any of its devices. According to recent reports, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ should get the update in January 2018, followed by the Note 8. Only after that will the Galaxy S7 be updated to Oreo. Until then, you’ll have to stick with Nougat.
