Update [August 01, 2019]: The same build number, DSG4, is now available for the AT&T Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus users too. AT&T just announced the update on its support page here, where it also revealed that besides the July 2019 security patch, the new OTA also packs in ‘Qualcomm baseline update.’
Well, that was quick. It was only a few moments ago that we reported the release of July update for the global Galaxy S10, S10e, and S10 Plus, we are now learning that the T-Mobile rolling out one for its Galaxy S8 handsets.
Coming in build DSG4, the update installs the (latest) July 2019 security patch, is sized about 207MB, and is already available as an OTA. The full software version of the update is G950USQSS6DSG4 for the S8 and G955USQSS6DSG4 for the S8 Plus.
As for the changelog, nothing else seems to be the part of the update. If you notice any new feature, be sure to let us know about it in the comments box below.
To check for an update now, hit up Settings > scroll down and tap Software update > Download and install. The update will begin downloading if your T-Mobile S8 is already eligible.
Given that Galaxy S8 won’t receive Android Q and One UI 2.0 update, it’s good to see Samsung still release timely software patches for the device.
