T-Mobile Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge get an update with July security patch

Galaxy S7 Edge

T-Mobile is rolling out a new software update to the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge that installs the July security patch on both the handsets.

The update is arriving with the build G930TUVU4BQG5 and G930TUVU4BQG5  for the S7 and S7 Edge respectively and brings along with it various system improvements alongside the July security patch.

The new OTA is a little north of 350MB in terms of size, so we recommend you to download the update over a Wi-Fi network. You can, of course, download it over cellular data if you intend to. Just make sure to be in a strong signal reception zone.

As usual, the new update is being rolled out over-the-air and could take some time to reach all the devices. In case you haven’t received the update notification already, try checking for it manually.

To do so, head to Settings > About device > Software update. Before hitting the install button, just make sure you have at least 50% charge left on your phone.
