It’s great to see a carrier roll out the latest monthly security patch update to devices on its network within the first week of the month, which even many OEMs fail to do. Taking away all the credit for this feat is T-Mobile which has started releasing the April security patch update to Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus units.

Arriving as build number N920TUVU4DQC2 to Galaxy Note 5, the firmware update installs the April monthly security patch and brings various improvements with it. In case of Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, the update arrives as build number G928TUVU4DQC2 with the April security patch update and several system improvements.

The update is being seeded over the air and may take a while to appear on your Galaxy device. If you do not want to wait, you can go to Settings > About device > System updates and check for it manually. However, it is imperative to charge your handset sufficiently and connect to it a WiFi network before going for the firmware update.

The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus started receiving the Nougat update last month which is being rolled out to unlocked variants while T-Mobile is yet to update its S6 Edge Plus to Android Nougat. Same is the case with Galaxy Note 5. The unlocked variants have started receiving the Nougat update but those Note 5 on T-Mobile network still run Android Marshmallow.
