After being officially confirmed on AT&T and Sprint, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was formally announced yesterday by T-Mobile USA and Samsung. It is being touted as T-Mobile’s most powerful device yet, and is expected to be released “this fall” as per the press release.
Hardware wise, the device is more or less the same as its AT&T and Sprint cousins except for the absence of LTE. It would however be trying to fill that gap by including some bonus software in the form of an “exciting new racing game” which would be pre-loaded onto the device. The game would also be tailored for use with the MOGA mobile gaming system. MOGA is a physical bluetooth based controller which eliminates the need to use the pesky virtual buttons on the device.
The T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 specs are as follows:
- 5.5″ HD Super AMOLED display
- 1.6 GHz quad-core Exynos processor
- 2 GB RAM
- 8 MP Rear Camera; 1.9 MP Front Camera
- GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0 host, NFC
- WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 & 5 GHz), Wi-Fi HT40,Wi-Fi Direct
- Accelerometer, Digital Compass, Proximity, Gyro, RGB Light, Barometer
- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
- 3100 mAh battery
The Samsung Galaxy Note II will be available in Titanium Gray and Marble White color options. The smartphone is expected to be available nationwide at T-Mobile retail stores, select national retailers and dealers, and online via http://www.T-Mobile.com in the coming weeks.
As you can see from the press release quote, no specific release date has been mentioned. However word out there, is that October 24th could be the big day for the big phone.
