The "Mysterious Painter" is a Wandering Tale in Where Winds Meet that begins at the Martial Temple. Speak with the Mysterious Painter to start, grab Fire Arrows, light three lamps, use the An Unholy Prophecy Emote on the lift, collect the Silver Spear of Discipline and Blackcloud Long Sword, place them on the armor, defeat Shi Zhen in the mini-boss fight, and return the Mysterious Book of War to the Mysterious Painter to complete the tale.

Walkthrough

Follow the steps below to complete this Wandering Tale in Where Winds Meet:

Step 1

After reaching the marked location, speak with the Mysterious Painter to start this tale.

Step 2

Head to the marked location below and locate the entrance.

Step 3

Head inside the secret entrance to enter the Martial Hall.

Step 3

Speak with the Mysterious Painter inside and pick up the Fire arrows kept on the table after the cutscene.

Step 4

Shoot the three lamps hanging from the ceiling with Fire Arrows to light them up and progress.

Step 5

Stand onto the stone platform and perform the newly acquried An Unholy Prophecy Emote to activate the lift.

Step 6

After using the lift, head further inside the Martial Temple.

Step 7

Once you reach the Main Hall, investigate the Eulogy and the Armor on the left.

Step 8

Head left, go down the stairs, and navigate the traps. Continue straight until you reach the ledge-jumping section—climb up, pass the next set of traps and pick up the Silver Spear of Discipline at the top.

Step 9

Return to the Main Hall, take the path on the right, and repeat the same steps as before to reach the top and collect the Blackcloud Long Sword.

Step 10

Return back to the Main Hall and place the Long and Short Weapons on the Armor to progress.

Step 11

Head into the secret entrance beneath the statue and climb from ledge to ledge until you reach the room with the chest.

Step 12

Interact with the chest to trigger a cutscene that leads into a mini-boss fight.

Step 13

Defeat Shi Zhen and the other enemies.

Step 14

Loot the chest then leave through the Hidden Passage and keep dropping down step by step to reach the exit which will lead to the Jade Mirror Pond.

Step 15

Head towards the Jade Mirror Pond Boundary Stone, speak with the Mysterious Painter, and give him the Mysterious Book of War to complete the Wandering Tale and receive your rewards.
