1. Orcs Must Die 3
Released: 14 July 2020
Developer: Robot Entertainment
This genre-blending, first-person tower defense is a timed exclusive on the Stadia, meaning that, for the time being at least, it’s the only place you can get in on the genocidal fun. The game put you at the reigns of defending a stronghold against a continuous onslaught of stock-fantasy orcs, using a variety of weapons, abilities, heroes and traps.
One of the best things about playing Orcs Must Die 3 on the Stadia is the no-holds-barred war mode lets the game take full advantage of the higher performance floor of the userbase.
Released: 1 July 2020
Developer: Unit 2 Games Limited
Crayta is an innovative game creation platform that looks a little something like if Fortnite characters found themselves lost in a voxel-based universe not unlike that of Minecraft. Which sounds like a winning combination in itself.
While game creators are nothing new, of course, Crayta looks to expand on both technical possibilities as well as with an overall, much-improved aesthetic over longstanding fixtures of the genre like Roblox. With more customizability and higher-poly models, there’s a lot of fun to be had on the platform that was tailor-made for the Stadia.
3. Players Unknown Battlegrounds: Breakthrough Edition
Released: 30 July 2016
Developer: PUBG Corporation, KRAFTON
A game without a need for introduction, PUBG is still one of the most popular games in the world and for a good reason. The adrenaline-drenched battle royale’s latest Breakthrough Edition is available completely for free on the Stadia until April 1. The Breakthrough Pack comes with the new Survivor Pass for Breakthrough as well as five instant levels and a bunch of free cosmetics.
If you’re PUBG fan who wants to get in on the latest season’s new additions for free or a veteran of its free-to-play mobile cousin because of hardware constraints, the Stadia Pro subscription will give you the full shebang completely for free.
4. Outcasters
Released: 3 December 2020
Developer: Splash Damage
Outcasters is an arena brawler that looks and feels something like a mash-up of Brawlstars and Fall Guys. Players compete in teams on small, tightly-quartered maps using a variety of projectiles that can bounce, pierce and curve. Every aspect of our casters is designed to promote chaos and fast-paced, energetic arena brawling goodness.
It also has the added distinction of being one of the current Stadia titles capable of crowd play in which streamers can invite Stadia users directly into their game.
5. Secret Neighbor
Released: 23 Oct
Developer: Hologryph, Eerie Guest Studios
Secret Neighbor draws on the world of the immensely popular Hello Neighbor series, combining it with the gameplay mechanics of Dead by Daylight and Among Us to create a scintillating multiplayer horror game.
Players can choose from a variety of specialized characters before teaming up to rescue a kidnapped friend from the innards of their creepy Neighbor’s House. The only problem? There is an impost— ahem, neighbor – among them.
6. Human Fall Flat: Stadia Edition
Released: 22 July 2016
Developer: No Brakes Games, Codeglue
Human Fall Flat has to be one of the more ridiculous physics-based platformers ever created and it’s entirely intentional. Players take charge of an awkwardly formed human and sit out to traverse a mercilessly uncooperative level using some of the floatiest controls ever devised while grappling with the unhelpful presence of their fellow humans.
The big bonus accompanying the Stadia addition is that, unlike other platforms that cabinet at eight players per game, the Stadia edition supports 16 player games — which means double the wacky, physical chaos.
7. Hitman – the Complete First Season
Released: 20 January 2021
Developer: IO Interactive
The Hitman games have long been delivered for their cerebral, almost workman-like approach to hired murder. For those who don’t know, rather than celebrating a guns-blazing attitude and going with a Counter-Strike clone dressed up with a stylish assassin-aesthetic, the Hitman games are celebrated for their puzzling, creative approach to getting the job done when it comes to killing for hire.
Right now on Stadia Pro, you can claim for free the complete first season of the revamped Hitman, containing all of the episodes and locations of the complete first season tied up with a little bow on it.
8. F1 2020
Released: 6 July 2020
Developer: Codemasters
F1 2020 is a racing game that, predictably, prides itself on fidelity to the real world F1 that it pays homage to. With all of the tracks and events of last year’s F1, there was no better companion to F1 fans stuck at home wondering when they could get their F1 fix again.
F1 2020 has the added bonus of including several tracks whose real-world counterparts had to be canceled because of the global pandemic, as well as a new My Team feature that allows players to take control of a fictional F1 team and guide them to F1 supremacy.
9. SUPERHOT: MIND CONTROL DELETE
Released: 16 July 2020
Developer: SUPERHOT Team
SUPERHOT: MIND CONTROL DELETE has to be one of the weirdest, most mysterious games on the Stadia but it’s all the better for that fact. Players are immediately thrown into the shoes of a monochrome killing machine around whom time passes only as they move — allowing them to lay waste to heavily armed enemies by the dozen with the slow-motion grace and utter dominance of a bitter demigod.
As hauntingly beautiful as it is mysterious, SUPERHOT: MIND CONTROL DELETE’s gameplay is as addictive as enigmatic as its story and it’s completely free for Pro users to claim.
10. Hotline Miami
Released: 23 October 2012
Developer: Devolver Digital, Dennaton Games, Abstraction
In Hotline Miami, players take on the role of a grim specter of carnage laying waste to the 1989 Miami criminal underworld at the behest of anonymous messages left on their answering machine. Yeah.
The somewhat twisted, all together glorious rabbit hole of psychedelic, copious violence that is hotline Miami is strong together by a gripping narrative and famously awesome soundtrack and can be played completely for free on Stadia Pro.
