About three weeks ago, Xiaomi released the first Android 8.1 Oreo beta update for the Redmi 5A. This was an unstable update with bugs and errors here and there, but the company has now finished ironing out these issues and started rolling out the stable version.
Xiaomi Redmi 5A users are receiving an update that brings MIUI 10.1.2.0.OCKMIFI, up from the previous version 10.1.1 that only brought the stable version of the MIUI 10 custom skin to the device based on Android Nougat. With the latest update, though, MIUI 10 is now based on Oreo 8.1.
