HTC One A9 users on Sprint carrier have started receiving a new firmware update. Arriving as build number 2.18.651.2, the latest update brings with it Android 7.0 Nougat OS and is being rolled out as we speak.

Other than the Nougat, which in itself is a major improvement over the One A9’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, the update also comes with the latest Android security patch by Google and system enhancements.

The Nougat update will enhance the battery life in Sprint HTC One A9. It also brings new Settings, Notifications shade and various system level improvements and bug fixes to the device.

If you own the Sprint One A9, the OTA Nougat roll out should hit your device anytime soon. In case waiting is not your thing, you can manually download the One A9 Nougat update by heading to Settings » About » Software updates.

Considering that HTC started rolling out the update to unlocked One A9 devices in mid-January itself, Sprint has got it a little late. But then, it’s always ‘better late than never.’
