Sprint might have shied away from supporting the Galaxy Nexus through Google’s open source program all this time, but it seems that they are finally seeing the light, as Google has made available the factory firmware images of Android 4.1.1 for the Sprint Galaxy Nexus on the Android Developers website.

Factory images are quite helpful, certainly for those who like to play around with custom ROMs, as they allow one to restore their device back to stock firmware. Sprint Galaxy Nexus owners should finally have the assurance that no matter what they custom hack-ery they perform on their device, they can always return back to stock using those firmware images.
