Lately, Samsung has not upgraded its high-end Galaxy Tab lineup with the latest one released in July last year. Now, its time for the South Korea based manufacturer to take the wraps off the Galaxy Tab S 2 officially. In the meantime, the alleged specifications and pricing of the upcoming Samsung slate have come to light.
The slate will arrive in Wi-Fi only versions Galaxy Tab S 2 8.0 with the model number SM-T710 and Galaxy Tab S 2 9.7 with the model number SM-T810. These units will carry a price tag of €399 and €499 respectively. The Galaxy S 2 9.7 bearing the model number SM-T815 will be the cellular variant with 4G LTE connectivity support and it will have a price of €589.
The device will boast of a Super AMOLED display of 2048 x 1436 pixel resolution. Under its hood, it is expected to employ an Exynos 5433 processor teamed up with 3 GB of RAM. It is said to have 32 GB of native memory capacity along with support for expandable storage space using a micro SD card.
The other aspects of the Galaxy Tab S 2 include Wi-Fi and a 5.4 mm thin body. The 8 inch model of the tablet is said to incorporate a 3,580 mAh battery, whereas the 9.7 inch model is slated to feature a 5,870 mAh battery.
Apart from these, Samsung is also prepping an entry level Galaxy Tab E with the model number SM-T560. It has already been launched in India and it will be priced equivalent to €199 in the other global markets.
The Galaxy Tab E runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and incorporates a 1.3 GHz quad core processor paired with 1.5 GB of RAM and 8 GB of expandable native memory capacity. This slate boasts of a 9.7 inch TFT LCD display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and a 5,000 mAh battery energizes it from within. This device is likely to go on sale in Taiwan by the end of this month.
