Sony came pretty late to the dual-core game (with the Xperia S), but since then they haven’t been wasting any time, with a lot of dual-core devices already released and some coming soon. But there are quad-core devices out in the market as well, and Sony may well be aiming to compete with those with the Yuga, a device that has shown up in an AnTuTu benchmark, showing a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor powering it.

According to Blog of Mobile, the Yuga “C6603” will be powered by Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, indicating that Sony is working on making the device as updated with the times as possible. LG has also put the same powerful chip and other spectacular hardware in their Optimus G, but it will come with Android 4.0 out of the box, putting the Yuga one step ahead at least far as the software is concerned.

We’ll certainly be keeping an eye on Sony’s quad-core Yuga, and let us hope more information on it comes out soon.
