Sony Xperia X Ultra renders show up online with tall 6.45-inch display

Looks like Sony may also be planning on launching a new Xperia device with a large tall display and an aspect ratio of 21:9. Renders of the device, rumored Xperia X Ultra, have surfaced online with a 6.45-inch display.

Other specs of the mid-range phablet have also been revealed. The last phablet from Sony, the Xperia XA Ultra, featured a 6.0-inch display. However, this new one is said to feature a tall display instead of just a wide one. This will give it that unique 21:9 aspect ratio.

This aspect ratio is higher than that of the recently released Samsung Galaxy S8 and the LG G6. Both of them also have unique aspect ratios thanks to their taller bezel-less displays. From the renders, it seems the Xperia X Ultra would also feature super thin bezels.

As per the leak, the Xperia X Ultra would feature a Snapdragon 660 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. A 19MP camera would be available at the rear, whereas a 13MP unit will take care of selfies. It would run on Android 7.0 Nougat and feature a rather small 3050 mAh battery.

  1. Shame to see that processor on such a good phone. The X Ultra seems really decent except for the processor but like it’s been said multiple times here that will help extend battery life. Manufacturers seem to be adapting the Samsung pattern of narrow and bigger displays with very littlw bezel.I’m not sure such a big screen would be easy for one hand usage even if its narrow. It doesn’t seem to show a scanner at the back ,curious where they are going to place it.Nice to see a common aspect ratio instead of Samsung and LG’s awkward ratio which didn’t let some videos take use of all that screen real estate but there shouldn’t be any issues here 😀

  2. weired 21:9 aspect ratio, but the device sure looks cool!! bezels r thick at top and bottom but small on the side and with the specs like SD660, 4GB/64GB internal, 16 and 13 MP camera combo, this will the best improvement over the 4 year old Xpera Z ultra!!
