Sony has begun beta testing of Android 7.0 Nougat update for the company’s latest flagship offering — Xperia X Performance. And while this beta release of Sony’s version of Nougat gets tested, developers will also have the opportunity to test root on nougat builds for Xperia line of devices.
So far rooting Nougat has been pretty easier on the Nexus devices, thanks to Chainfire and his SuperSU zip. Also, the magisk systemless root was another cool method to get rooted on Nougat without much effort.
We are hopeful that Sony’s build of Android 7.0 Nougat won’t make root any harder for the Xperia devices since these devices come with unlockable bootloader, and that makes it simpler to install custom binaries on a device.
We’ll be sure to update this as and when we’ve more info on rooting Xperia X performance on Nougat.
Happy Androiding!
