Sony just released a statement to detail out its Marshmallow update plans, and has come up with a list of devices that are gonna get the Android 6.0 update for sure in near future.
Although, the company is tight-lipped on release date for its Marshmallow update, but we assume that should be happening within two months at the max, at least for latest Sony flagship sets like Xperia Z5 and Z5 compact.
Here’s the full list of Sony Xperia sets in line for Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
- Xperia Z5
- Xperia Z5 Compact
- Xperia Z5 Premium
- Xperia Z4 Tablet
- Xperia Z3+
- Xperia Z3
- Xperia Z3 Compact
- Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact
- Xperia Z2
- Xperia Z2 Tablet
- Xperia M5
- Xperia C5 Ultra
- Xperia M4 Aqua and
- Xperia C4
Of course, the list doesn’t include easily Marshmallow capable devices like Xperia Z and Z1 and their variants but that goes down to the fact that these devices are now more than 2 years old, and thus past their guaranteed software update timelines.
Anyway, we know that CyanogenMod 13 will be available for sure for Sony Xperia Z and Z1, and that is how you will get to taste Marshmallow update on those devices. Don’t be upset, okay.
We’ll let you know for sure about the exact release dates of the updates, as and when they come out. Keep watching this space.
