Sony, which launched the Xperia E4 last month in India has finally unveiled the 4G variant of the device. Launched as the Sony Xperia E4g Dual, the device represents Sony’s latest in the LTE niche and whats more, just like its predcessor (it) also comes with dual sim slots.
Announced back in feburary, the dual-sim device features a 4.7-inch qHD IPS display and comes equipped with a quad-core MediaTek MT6732 64-bit processor which provides speeds of upto 1.5 GHz. Camera wise the device is pretty standard, packing a 5/2 MP rear/front pair with the rear one packing a LED flash. On the memory front, we have 1 GB RAM along with 8 GB of internal memory with the option to add an external memory card. The device is available in two colour variants — namely, black and white — and comes with a price tag of Rs. 13,490 MRP and 13,290 MOP.
Compared to its 3G version — the Xperia E4 — we have less display real estate (.3 inches less to be exact), but a slightly more powerful processor while the battery size remains the same at 2300 mAh. Similarly, the scratch resistant glass used in the E4 has also been retained for the E4G.
While we dont really find any reason to pick faults with the device, the specs available at this price range makes one curious about how it fares in the face of competition from other, maybe a little less known manufacturers who are willing to offer all this (and sometimes more) at relatively lower price points — minus Sony’s brand value.
Well, we leave it to the combination of time and consumers to answer this question. Until then, watch Sony’s latest 4G offering in action right below.
