Sony is set to release some new Xperia handsets at MWC 2017, and we have already heard some rumors about the devices. Two model numbers were leaked and were reported to run on the Snapdragon 820 processor. Now, a new report states that one of those devices and another new model, will use the MediaTek Helio P20 MT6757 processor.
The Sony G3112 and G3121 that were leaked earlier, were supposed to be running the SD820 processor. However, new UAProf listing for the G3112 and another G3221 model shows the devices using the MT6757 Helio P20 processor. This processor features 4 cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and 4 cores at 1.6 GHz. This is coupled with the Mali-T880 graphics.
The UAProf for the devices also reveals some other details about the Xperia smartphones. The G3112, which is supposed to have a 5.2-inch display, could have a 720p resolution. The G3221 model would come with a 1080p display, screen size isn’t known.
Whatever the case, we know for sure that Sony will announce a couple of new Xperia smartphones, both mid and flagship range, at MWC 2017. Let’s hope at least one of them uses the Snapdragon 835 processor.
