How to trigger Soaring Eagle Encounter

The Soaring Eagle Encounter only becomes available after completing the Jinming Pool Campaign. Once that is done, follow the steps below to unlock it:

Step 1

After finishing the campaign, complete the Eagle’s Shadow Wandering Tale and then travel to the South Imperial Garden.

Step 2

Locate Shi Shouxin and hand over the Wooden Eagle so he can pass it on to Murong Yuan.

Step 3

Head to Jade Mirror Pond. Here, you must wait a full real-world day for the Encounter to trigger.

Location and how to start

Once a real day has passed, return to Jade Mirror Pond. You will now find a little girl named Zhenzhen near the riverbank. Approach her to begin the Soaring Eagle Encounter Quest.

Follow these steps to complete the Soaring Eagle Encounter Quest in Where Winds Meet:

Step 1

You find Zhenzhen trying and failing to craft a wooden eagle. She explains that Murong Yuan, whom she calls her big sister had left before teaching her to build the wooden eagle.

Step 2

Now that the quest has unlocked, hand over the wooden eagle diagram to her.

Step 3

She promises to return it and asks you to meet her tomorrow at Xu hour at Masterwood Hamlet.

Step 4

Change the in-game time to Xu hour then travel to Masterwood Hamlet by following the quest marker.

Step 5

Once you reach Masterwood Hamlet, you will find Zhenzhen, follow her.

Step 6

She takes you to her home, where her father, Li the blacksmith, is cooking. Sit with them. Zhenzhen shares a story of how Murong once saved her, while her father insists Murong is cold and frightening. This introduces differing views of Murong’s character.

Step 7

Upset, Zhenzhen runs off. Follow and talk to her. She reveals the softer side of Murong Yuan and urges you to investigate who Murong truly is. She suggests speaking with locals and mentions seeing Murong near the junk heap outside the hamlet, a place she believes hides Murong’s secret base.

Step 8

ind Uncle Li in Masterwood Hamlet. He recounts an incident involving Murong and an old shipwright.

Step 9

Locate the old shipwright and speak with him. He tells you about a secret chamber connected to Murong.

Step 10

Follow the quest marker to the old shrine, which hides a secret passage.

Step 11

Go into the passage and continue deeper underground.

Step 12

Inside, you discover a letter containing important information about Murong Yuan’s past.

Step 13

After picking up the letter, look around. You’ll briefly see a fleeting image of Murong Yuan.

Step 14

Imperial Guards will suddenly appear inside the chamber. Defeat them all.

Step 15

You will then encounter Li Shoujie, Murong Yuan’s brother.

Step 16

Give him the letter and speak with him to uncover the truth behind Murong’s actions and history.

Step 17

Travel to the Martial Temple to continue investigating.

Step 18

Visit Shi Shouxin and ask for more details about Murong Yuan’s past.

Step 19

Go back to Masterood Hamlet.

Step 20

Find Zhenzhen and share everything you’ve learned.

Step 21

You must now advance in-game time by several days, fast-forward as much as the game allows.

Step 22

Return to the same spot as before. You’ll find Zhenzhen proudly showing her wooden eagle soaring high through the air, completing the Encounter.
