Samsung on Tuesday unveiled new members of the Galaxy A and J series in India. While the Galaxy A6 and A6 Plus had already been launched and Samsung promised that they’ll be coming to India on May 21, the event also witnessed the debut of the Galaxy J6 and Galaxy J8 handsets, the first of their kind (name) from the Korean company.
Three of the four phones are already available for purchase via Samsung’s website and retail stores across the country, but the Galaxy J8 will arrive somewhere in July. Nothing has changed about the specs and features of the Galaxy A6 and A6 Plus, all of which are captured here. With the new kids on the block, Samsung aims to give the budget spenders a taste of the features that are most talked-about with respect to the Galaxy S and Note series. Talk of Infinity Displays, dual-lens camera (on the A6 Plus and J8) with portrait mode, unibody design (metal on the A6 and A6 Plus and polycarbonate on the J6 and J8), up to 64GB storage with room to expand (up to 256GB), among others.
The priciest of them has a price tag of INR 25,990, which is under $400 and for INR 13,990, you get the entry-level variant. The more premium Galaxy A6 and A6 Plus start at INR 21,990 (INR 22,990 for 64GB variant) and go all the way to INR 25,990 for the Plus variant. The cheapest of them all is the 3/32GB variant of the Galaxy J6, but the pumped-up version of 4/64GB costs INR 16,440. As for the Galaxy J8, which will arrive in July, it’ll set you back INR 18,990.
