Samsung has already launched two new tablets this year – the Galaxy Note 8.0 and the only just announced Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, and now Samsung’s portfolio of upcoming tablets for 2013 has leaked, hinting at a pretty interesting lineup.
The most interesting device on the list is the Galaxy Tab 8.0, which should be the first tablet smaller than 10-inch with a full HD 1080p resolution. There is also a Nexus 11 listed – this successor to the Nexus 10 will be made in collaboration with Google and be the first tablet to be powered by an octa-core chipset, the same that’s found in the Galaxy S4. It is also expected to have a 11″ screen, which does sound a bit odd, and dare I say, unnecessary.
There is also a Galaxy Tab DUOS 7.0 on the portfolio, which is basically a Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 but with dual SIM support, a rather odd feature for a tablet. Last but not the least, there is also a Galaxy Tab 11 on the horizon, with a 11-inch screen like the Nexus 11 and a quad-core Exynos 4412 processor like Samsung’s 2012 flagship devices. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Note 2 10.1 has apparently been cancelled owing to poor sales of the first version.
It’s an interesting portfolio indeed, and it seems Samsung is working on putting a tablet in every single category out there so that consumers are spoiled for choice. A common tactic for the Korean manufacturer, so expect each and every one of these rumored tablets to be real and launch this year.
